The project "Als Ein Mensch"/ “As A Human” is an artistic project by the two students (Johannes Bode and Ching-Tien Lin) of the master's degree in elementary music and dance education (EMTP) at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig.

 

Based on the characteristics of the Brutalism architectural form, this performance pursues the connecting properties to the EMTP. Aspects of humanity and vitality and people's need for security are examined.

For example, showing the liveliness in the rhythm, which in the form of a recurring motif represents a repetitive momentum. The repeating rhythms form the basic atmosphere of the performance. These combine with the movements and emotional expression, but at the same time lead a life of their own. It is an attempt to translate EMTP in the form of a performance as a tightrope walk between comfort zone and limits and to experience them closely together with the audience.
